Bios -

Since the release of his debut single “The Reef” on Frite Nite he has been pulling down remixes, working on vinyl releases and performing mindbending sets across the nation. Seemingly erupting from nowhere this Oakland based artist has been melting both faces and hearts with his own brand of bass music, frequently combining filthy bass sounds with focused melodies and sentimental vocal snippets into a melange of sonic wonder.

Pulling influences from both club culture and counter culture NastyNasty’s unique sound has garnered attention around the globe gracing blogs and mixes worldwide, most notably; 2 top rated mp3′s on Xlr8r, a rinsing on Skream’s “Stella Sessions” radio show by dj/producer Starkey and his own mix on Rob Booth’s “Electronic Explorations” podcast series.

Mindelixir -

Mindelixir has been a busy individual recently. His funky jazz infused blend of bass music has been categorized as dubstep often but there’s something very different about this producers sound. See for yourself by checking out his new mix that just dropped for Seclusiasis or checking out his latest release, Doomsday Ticket, fresh from Daly City Records. His monthly party Mindelixir Presents Bass Church is one of the largest bass parties in the country and his work with Atlanta based record label ALR has lead to record sales for every quarter that he was on the team. Mindelixir won The Glitch Mob’s “Drive it Like you Stole it” remix competition, and is also featured on ADJ’s Fawlty Mekanizms” EP from Outside Recordings. He’ll be starting a new imprint soon, so stay tuned. Watch out for his live show, there’s no other place on earth to hear the futuristic bass heavy blend he’s wielding.

Spooky Jones -

2010 was epic for Spooky, as he played in concert with Datsik, Rusko, Flux Pavillion, Doctor P, The Glitch Mob, Lazer Sword, Starkey, Joker, Tipper, Sub Swara, Borgore, EOTO, Lotus, and many more. Teamed up now with Abstract Logic Recordings and Mindelixir Presents, Spooky Jones is here to stay. ALR released first EP “Hypno Roll” which charted on several online retailers, including Addictech and Juno. One of the tracks “Sex Stain” was put on beatports Top10 Dubstep tracks for the week and was also played by Starkey on BBC1 Radio Xtra’s Daily Dose of Dubstep. He also had two new tracks on ALR’s top compilation “Mindelixir Presents : Repeat Business”

Stereotonin -

Stereotonin seeks inspiration for his addictive instrumental tracks drawing from the work of artists spanning every genre; from Sly and The Family Stone to Flying Lotus. Based in Nashville, TN, Stereotonin has worked with musicians of all eras and styles.
After several years of collaborations with rap artists, Stereotonin realized that the atmosphere he was trying to create through his music was often in conflict with the message of the lyricist. He then changed his direction and decided to focus on communication without verbal cues.

John Hairston Jr (Live Painting) -

John Hairston Jr. has been an artist for as long as he can remember. A North Carolina native, he created art before he could read or write. Throughout his grade school years, he spent the majority of his time drawing superheroes and listening to any old soul or Hip Hop records he could get his hands on. Little did he know that his love for all things spandex-clad and funky would play such a major role in his development as an artist. Under the guidance of his high school mentors and college professors, he learned to tap into these components to create a style of artwork that seamlessly blends political satire, social commentary and obscure pop-culture references. Hairston graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and began his career as a professional artist illustrating storyboards for a string of independent films and several television ads. He has done commissioned pieces for numerous art collectors and various non-profit organizations. Hairston’s work is currently on display in various art galleries all over the East Coast and Charlotte, NC.

Friday Sept. 2 Labor Day Weekend

9pm-until…and don’t forget that beer and wine are served ALL NIGHT in Myrtle ;)

This special edition of BSU features the Soul Beat Boutique crew and two guests that will be bringing the heat to the end of summer celebration that is Labor Day Weekend.

For more than a decade these guys have been pushing the underground sounds of electronic music all over Myrtle Beach and the Carolinas. Sliding between house, funk, soul, rare groove and techno, they create a vibe that flows throughout the entire night. While others may try to drop all the top 10 bombs they can cram into an hour set, they prefer to stretch out over the course of a few hours with tracks that build, swirl, fall and rise again to create a journey across many styles of electronica.

Randy played his first rave in Myrtle Beach in 1992 for 600 crazed party people in an abandoned car dealership on Hwy 501. Many years later he still plays EDM with the same passion that he had back then. His sets move effortlessly between house, techno, minimal and Latin house, all with an ear toward creating a sound that is dance floor friendly but a sound that is unlike an other.

Kesas- BSU

This veteran of the electronic music scene is rapidly becoming one of the best new DJ talents around. He was the driving force behind the Saeed Younan event last summer that brought hundreds of people together for the event of the year. Behind the decks, he works the mixer like a veteran and selects the best house and techno tracks to keep the floor slammed.
