…Household
Management and QUAD present our official kick off to what will be an
amazing SUMMER with a Memorial Day Weekend BASS Celebration!

BASSAPALOOZA!!

with the return of one of the biggest DJ duos, and best producers on the Globe, the mighty:

STANTON WARRIORS
Punks Music // United Kingdom
True
pioneers of a sound that broke all the rules back in 1998, Stanton
Warriors took garage and twisted it beyond all recognition, dropping
speaker shattering bass lines and massive beats…all to devastating
effect. Stanton Warriors had arrived. In 2001, Stanton Warriors laid
down a fresh new sound with the seminal ‘Stanton Sessions’ that was
instantly signed to XL Recordings. The mix saw off competition from Fat
Boy Slim and Deep Dish to win Best Album at the Dance Star Awards, and
again at the Muzik Mag Awards where they beat Dave Clarke and Danny
Tenaglia, whilst the mix recently featured in Mixmags top 50 best
compilations ever industry poll. ‘Stanton Sessions’ went on to become
the biggest selling breaks album of all time – a feat as yet
unsurpassed. Overnight, Stanton Warriors became the hottest producers on
the planet, and today they continue to stay at the very pinnacle of
their profession. High profile remixes for such luminaries as Missy
Elliot, Fat Boy Slim, Basement Jaxx, Mylo, Freeform Five, and Busta
Rhymes amongst others constantly fill their diary, whilst their own
original material continues to push the boundaries of musical
excellence. They are also incomparable when it comes to working with
vocalists. In a scene renowned for instrumentals, Stanton Warriors have
jetted around the world to record with vocal talents that include Big
Daddy Kane, Twista and The Beatnuts, implementing house, electro, hip
-hop and funk elements into their sound. In 2006 Stanton Warriors signed
their debut album ‘Lost Files’ to V2, becoming one of the first breaks
act to sign to a major. Released to massive critical acclaim, ‘Lost
Files’ received support from a variety of djs across a variety of
different scenes, with major support from MTV and Pete Tong on Radio 1.
The album was also play listed to Radio 1 & XFM daytime shows plus
countless other stations around the world. ‘Stanton Sessions 2’ was
released at the same time and was immediately voted ‘Album Of The Year’
on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 Show., And this is not forgetting the
request to mix Fabric’s milestone 30th compilation. Which was voted
‘Timeout Compilation Of The Year’ and ‘Breakspoll Compilation Of The
Year’ respectively, with the mix ultimately became one of the fastest
selling in the series. Last year Skint Records brought together Dom and
Mark’s killer versions of Gorillaz’ ‘Feel Good Inc’, Alter Ego’s
legendary ‘Rocker’ and Azzido Da Bass’s ‘Dooms Night’ amongst a great
deal more on ‘Remixes’. The compilation perfectly showcased the Stantons
sound and made it clear why DJ Mag included them in their recent list
of the ‘50 Best Remixers Of All Time’. Their most recent accolades
include their placing as Number 1 djs at Breakspoll and Number 1 breaks
djs in DJ Magazines Top 100 for the past two years in a list awash with
trance and house djs. The awards are testament to having played at every
major festival and super club around the world – treading an
international path that few djs can rival. Stanton dj sets are famed for
incorporating exclusive original tracks mixed with homemade edits /
remixes of cutting edge sounds from underground house through to
abstract hip hop and everything in between. It’s all blended into a
melting pot of low down booty electro punkishness, and is continually
reminding the world why Stanton Warriors have remained unrivalled in
their genre for more than a decade.

CALVERTRON
Jack Knife Records // United Kingdom
Following
a string of speaker rattling productions and highly acclaimed remixes,
Alex Calver aka Calvertron has found himself the subject of attention of
some of the most credible artists and record labels in the business.
His tracks are consistently featured on the UK’s national radio stations
and are spreading like a pandemic into the sets of the world’s most
influential DJ’s. Formerly the producer/engineer behind one of the UK’s
most groundbreaking music duo’s ‘Twocker’, Alex’s versatility knows no
bounds, from bass driven house music and Jacking/Electro, to Minimal
Techno and Tech House (sometimes under his ‘Kalva’ guise). Alex has
become one of the leaders on the global scene and has already had the
honour of remixing such legends as Laidback Luke, Armand Van Helden, and
Sander Kleinenberg.

DOWNLINK
Rottun Recordings, http://www.facebook.com/downlinkdub / Kelowna, British Columbia
If
you've been paying any attention to the dubstep world you will have
noticed the rise to the top Downlink has enjoyed with Rottun partners
Excision and Dastik. With nearly every release reaching the top 10 on
Beatport or even multiple lengthy stays at #1, its no doubt that
Downlink is one of the hottest dubstep acts on the planet. Downlink has
been punishing floors all over the planet with his heavy brand of
dubstep. With roots in Jungle & DnB, he is no stranger to the vile
side of subsonic dance music. Growing up in a cold industrial town in
British Columbia, Canada, he was first introduced to dubstep in 2007 and
soon after took to production. While maintaining an appreciation for
sparse and laid-back dubstep, Downlink set out to explore a more
frantic, adrenaline fuelled style, influenced by everything from heavy
metal to astrophysics. His first two releases charted at #1 on several
popular online distributors and soon he found his way onto Rottun
Recordings which seemed a suiting place for his music. With the release
of his "Ignition EP" he has gained DJ support from the likes of
Excision, Datsik, Stenchman, Borgore, DZ, 16 Bit, Dieselboy, Evol
Intent, Crookers and many more. Downlink is not one to be pigeon-holed
and is constantly on a quest to evolve and refine his sound. With this
in mind, one thing will always remain constant – a pure unadulterated
heavy listening experience.

FIGURE
Jack Knife Records, Idiot House, Brooklyn Fire // United States
Josh
Gard aka Figure is helping the Midwest make a new name for
itself.Balancing his production with Bassline , Dubstep and House ,
there is no way to ignore the self movement he is creating. His tracks
are consistently featured on the likes of BBC radio and are invading the
sets of some of the worlds leaders in bass music , spanning from Ac
Slater to Calvertron. With a number of well-received releases on
respected labels and enlisted by such legends as Bart B More, Diplo, Don
Diablo, Tommie Sunshine, and Kissy Sell out for remixes, Figure is
about to strengthen the claim that he just may be the most prolific
Bassline & Drumstep artist in North America.

MARK YURM
Household Management // Atlanta, Georgia

ROOM 2:

QUICKIE MART
Space Monkey Radio, http://soundcloud.com/djquickiemart // Los Angeles, California
Quickie
Mart got his start in the smoke filled, late night bar scene of New
Orleans just prior to Hurricane Katrina. Since then, he has relocated to
Los Angeles, toured the world, recorded numerous projects, and still
manages to play in his hometown at a minimum of once a month. Quickie’s
accolades include playing large events like SXSW, Vegoose, and Zen
Festival. He has been featured twice at the New Orleans Jazz &
Heritage Festival, three years at Voodoo Music Festival, and five years
in a row at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. He has shared stages with
artists such as George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Jurassic 5,
RJD2, The Ting Tings, Fishbone, Lyrics Born, Joss Stone, Perry Farrell's
Satellite Party, DJ Klever, Particle, Akon, Gift Of Gab, Inspektah
Deck, and Lilly Allen, …just to name a few. He also had the honor of
performing on stage with the legendary Mac “Dr. John” Rebennak. Whether
touring as a solo artist, or on the road with other acts like Galactic,
Q-Tip, Shwayze, and The Cool Kids, Mart’s sets have captivated audiences
world wide. QM has been featured on numerous television programs
including Current TV, Louisiana’s famous Dew Drop Inn, and one season on
NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly’s as the show’s resident DJ. He has
worked in the studio with heavyweight artists like Freddie Gibbs,
UPT/Universal’s Juvenile, Grammy nominated Planet Asia, ANTI/Epitaph’s
Galactic, and Stone Throw’s Percee P. In late 2009, Ben Ellman and
Quickie released the “Gypsyphonic Disko” which was downloaded more that
30,000 times, and rated as one of Nerve Magazine’s Top 5 Albums you
should be listening to. His most recent project, Haze Diaires Vol. 3
with Gotham Green peaked at number 3 on the CMJ Hip Hop charts. Quickie
Mart has also received press in URB Magazine, Blender, Filter, XLR8R,
and Offbeat magazines, and was hailed “New Orleans’ Hip Hop Champion” by
LA Weekly. In addition to consistently recording and touring QM has
also served as the tour DJ for acts like The Knux, iCON the Mic King,
Freddie Gibbs, Gotham Green, and Devin the Dude. Quickie knows no
musical bounds as an artist, and now after being so young, and
accomplishing so much in such a short amount of time, it's easy to see
why Quickie Mart has attracted so many people to his music – and even
easier to expect much more from him in the future.

STREET LURKIN
Fuck Yesss, Always Never Records // Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta
based duo, Ryan Purcell (Oh Snap Kid) and Lee Bates (Hxllywxxd), have
teamed together as the DJ/Producer collaboration, Street Lurkin.
Influenced by the sounds of Le Castle Vania, Designer Drugs, Treasure
Fingers, Bloody Beetroots, Skrillex, and hardcore genres, their sound is
full of energy, heavy bass, catchy melodies, and tons of somersault
roundhouse kicks to the face. Both true southern boys, they know how a
party goes down and plan to produce music to do just that. Currently
working on releases with Always Never Recs, they are constantly putting
in the hours to bring out new music, aside from when they are not trying
to out drink one another. True believers in Electro and Indie sounds,
they plan to push the bangers out to the masses.
